The Right to Vote

March 2, 2021, is the date for the special election for Indianola Mayor. While this might not seem like a big deal, a vote for only one office, having the right to help choose the person who will be the Ambassador for your City really is a big deal.

I'd be honored to have your vote. I've said before that my grandpa was Mayor in the mid-60s. He died while in office, so there must have been a special election to replace him. I'm running to fill the office left open by a resignation. In a weird way, it feels like I'm completing Grandpa's term in office. I hadn't really thought of it that way before.

If there's a chance that you'll forget to vote on March 2, then please vote early at the Administration Building, 310 N Buxton, Indianola. Details below: forgive if the card is crooked : )

Hello Michelle,

I am a staff writer for Simpson College's student-run newspaper, The Simpsonian, and am currently writing a piece on the three candidates running for Indianola mayor so that Simpson students can be informed, and hopefully exercise their voting privileges. I was hoping you would have around thirty minutes sometime this week to meet with me via Zoom so that I could ask you a few questions about your campaign for mayor. I am available Tuesday from 9:45 a.m. until 1:30 p.m., and any time after 7 p.m. Wednesday any time before 10 a.m. and any time after 1:30 p.m. Thursday from 9:45 a.m. until 1:30 p.m., and any time after 7 p.m., and Friday any time before 2 p.m. and any time after 5 p.m.
If you are willing to talk, please let me know if any of these times work for you. Thank you so much for your time and I hope to hear from you soon!

Sincerely,
Paul Hyatt
